The road has had standing floodwater for one week. It is inconvenient when going outside. Height: front-of-the-house level. The flooding has already reached about below the knee.
Bangkok has 3,037 flood reports, 58 of them with photos. The newest report, from Floodboard, was recorded on 7 Oct 2026 06:14 at Chao Khun Thahan Road, Khlong Sam Prawet Subdistrict, Lat Krabang District, Bangkok, 10520.
The road has had standing floodwater for one week. It is inconvenient when going outside. Height: front-of-the-house level. The flooding has already reached about below the knee.
Bangkok entered the day under a final nationwide warning for isolated heavy rain, with thunderstorms expected across roughly 60 percent of the capital and its neighbouring provinces.
Authorities cautioned that persistent downpours could still cause sudden flooding, overflowing drains, and hazards in low-lying streets. The broader picture was improving: after about two weeks of disruption, city officials said main roads and key travel routes were largely free of standing water, while crews continued cleaning and clearing areas affected by the earlier floods.
The Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation (DDPM) reported flooding in Bangkok affecting 329,000 households as of its 6 a.m. update on 10 October, with four flood-related deaths, while overall water levels in the capital were declining.
The Thai Meteorological Department (TMD) forecast thundershowers across 80% of Bangkok and surrounding areas, with gusty winds and isolated heavy rain, and warned that accumulated rain could cause flash floods, runoff and waterlogging, especially in low-lying areas and near waterways.
Bangkok is included in the TMD's 10–13 October warning. National reporting said water flowing south from the North and persistent heavy rain were contributing to flooding, including in Bangkok.
Experts cited by Thai PBS estimated about 1.7 billion cubic metres of floodwater remained to be drained across the eastern region, with high tides slowing drainage to the Gulf. That is a regional drainage challenge, not a Bangkok-only figure.
Bangkok has 3,037 public flood reports in Krap's records, filed between 15:10 on 2 October and 17:14 on 7 October 2026, Bangkok time. A depth in centimetres is recorded in 1,597 of them. The most common figure is 45 cm (393 reports), ahead of 25 cm (335) and 10 cm (304), and the deepest is 160 cm.
Of the 900 reports that describe road conditions, 774 say the water has gone, 73 say small cars cannot pass and 53 say the road is blocked. The other 2,137 don't say whether a car can get through.
Lat Krabang leads with 112 reports, followed by Nong Chok (72), Min Buri (66), Sai Mai (55) and Prawet (34). 35 of Bangkok's districts have at least one report, and 58 reports include a photo.
Governor Chadchart Sittipunt said the flood began at 16:00 on 24 September 2026, and that accumulated rain reached nearly 300 mm by 06:00 on 26 September, with about 260-274 mm in Min Buri's Bueng Khwang, Khlong Sam Wa and Saphan Sung [1]. The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA) widened its disaster declaration from three districts (Nong Chok, Suan Luang and Khan Na Yao) to all 50 on 26 September [2].
The Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation (DDPM) reported 329,000 affected households, 4 deaths and a stable water level in Bangkok at 06:00 on 29 September [3]. The same household and death figures appear in its report for 06:00 on 6 October [4].
The Thai Meteorological Department's warning No. 3 names Bangkok and vicinity for 10 and 11 October, where earlier warnings Nos. 1 and 2 had named it through 12 October [5]. A report describes one place at one time, and a district with no report isn't proof of a dry road.
Krap AI is a free platform developed on a voluntary basis to support Thailand's AI future. It can be used for general conversations, and development is ongoing to enable flood forecasting by processing open-source data—a crucial capability for managing natural disasters like floods in Thailand.
You can chat with Krap AI to get the latest updates on Bangkok flood disasters. While Krap AI utilizes its own dedicated flood AI model, it can also employ other AI models as a fallback during periods of high traffic.

Of the 900 reports that describe road conditions, 774 say the water has gone, 73 say small cars cannot pass and 53 say the road is blocked. The other 2,137 say nothing about whether a car can get through.
In Bang Khen, a report filed at 17:10 on 7 October records 45 cm and describes standing floodwater on the road for a week, with a photo [6]. It doesn't say whether cars can pass.
Four more reports filed that afternoon describe blocked or restricted roads:
Soi Ruam Klao 19, Lat Krabang: at 16:39 a report records 45 cm and says small vehicles cannot travel, with the soi flooded for 13 days [7].
In Bueng Kum, near Soi Uthen 31, a 16:48 report records 45 cm and a blocked road. It says cars can't travel in or out because the district's water pump at that spot broke in the early hours of the morning [8].
On Ruam Phatthana Road in Lat Krabang, a 16:20 report records 45 cm and a blocked road. It says an ordinary sedan can't pass in some spots and the road is starting to become potholed [9].
In Nong Chok, a 17:06 report from the soi of Crystal Village records 30 cm and says small cars cannot pass. It says the soi has been flooded for 13 days and the water is foul.
Each report describes one spot at one time, and none of them speaks for the next soi.

35 districts have at least one report. Nine have none: Bang Khun Thian, Khlong Toei, Ratchathewi, Yan Nawa, Bang Kho Laem, Rat Burana, Bang Phlat, Bangkok Yai and Phaya Thai.
On 28 September, deputy governor Tavida Kamolvej named eleven districts that still needed the most help: Lat Krabang, Bang Kapi, Min Buri, Saphan Sung, Suan Luang, Bueng Kum, Khlong Sam Wa, Sai Mai, Bang Khen, Lak Si and Lat Phrao [10]. The same briefing said water had accumulated in about 42 districts, and its headline counts eight critical districts while the list in the body names eleven [10].
Lat Krabang needed nearly 20,000 boxes of cooked food per meal at that point [10].
Governor Chadchart said accumulated rain reached nearly 300 mm by 06:00 on 26 September 2026, counted from 16:00 on 24 September, when the situation began [1]. Bueng Khwang in Min Buri, Khlong Sam Wa and Saphan Sung had about 260-274 mm [1].
The Thai Meteorological Department (TMD) had warned that heavy rain, very heavy in some places, would cover the Central region including Bangkok and vicinity from 24 to 27 September [11]. On 25 September the governor put the 24-hour total at 133 mm, with 112 mm and 105 mm measured in Min Buri [12].
The Bangkok Drainage Department recorded the highest 24-hour totals through the morning of 26 September at five gauges: 210.0 mm at Thetsaban Songkhro in Chatuchak, 205.5 mm at Khlong Chao Khun Sing in Wang Thonglang, 203.5 mm at Saphan Sung, 203.0 mm at Phaya Thai and 201.0 mm at Chaeng Watthana Road in Lak Si [13].
Government spokesperson Ekkaphop Phianphiset cited a different figure, 340 millimetres as the highest rain of the round and the heaviest in 43 years, since 1983, without naming a station [14]. These figures come from different measurements and shouldn't be added or averaged.
On 25 September, Governor Chadchart said main roads were still passable but water was ponding in side sois and canal-side communities [12]. He named Nawamin Road, Suwinthawong Road, Ram Inthra Soi 59, Ramkhamhaeng Soi 43, Luang Phaeng Road and Chao Khun Thahan Road, with O Ngoen at 15 cm and Ram Inthra Road at 10 cm [12].
The Drainage Department reported that 80 main-road points under BMA responsibility flooded after the rain from 24 September [15]. On the morning of 27 September, 39 were still flooded and 41 had drained, and most of the flooded points were 15-20 cm deep [15].
BMA data for 06:30 on 6 October listed Chalong Krung Road at KMITL at 15-40 cm and closed to small cars [16]. Luang Phaeng Road inbound at Lotus Lat Krabang was at 15-20 cm, and stretches of Suwinthawong Road, Krungthep Kreetha Road and Lat Krabang Road were at 5-10 cm [16].
On 8 October a social-media user's update said Lat Krabang Road still had deep water in three zones where vehicles had to keep right [17]. They ran from HomePro and Robinson Lat Krabang to Kingkaew junction, from the Airport Link junction to Wat Sam, and from Lat Krabang Soi 11 to Suk Saman junction [17].
The same update called the Sirindhorn Hospital junction, the inbound side at the Lat Krabang district office and the KMITL entrance dry or nearly dry [17]. It is a user report, not official data.
Theerarat Samrejvanich, a former deputy interior minister and former Lat Krabang MP, claimed on 7 October that inbound Chao Khun Thahan Road had been flooded for more than 10 days and motorcycles couldn't pass [18]. That is a politician's claim, not official data.
At 10:00 on 4 October, deputy government spokesperson Lalida Pheritwiwatthana and drainage engineering director Wisanu Charoen said the water level at Rom Klao housing in Lat Krabang had been cut by about 30-60 cm, but roads still had 20-30 cm [19]. They expected a drop of about 25 cm per day and about two more days [19].
The same day, Deputy Interior Minister Polpee Suwanchawee said some spots at Rom Klao were still above 1.30 m, and that water on the main routes had fallen more than 30 cm [20]. The two statements give different pictures of the same housing area.
Governor Chadchart said on 4 October that water at Rom Klao and Lat Krabang had fallen 50 cm and cars could reach the shelter [21]. He expected Rom Klao housing, more than 2,000 rai, to be 80 percent dry on 5 October [21].
The governor also said Khlong Prawet Burirom was falling about 3-4 cm a day. Five Lung Tua push-boats with a combined 2,500 horsepower were pushing water toward the Phra Khanong pump station and Nong Bon pond, and two more axial-flow pumps were added at Rom Klao and Lat Krabang.
On 5 October the deputy government spokesperson said Rom Klao housing had been drained by 30-70 cm, with a target of at least 25 cm a day, and that Chalong Krung Road was still deeply flooded. Sai Mai and O Ngoen got extra pumps and push boats and were expected to be dry within two days.
At 11:15 on 6 October, Tavida Kamolvej said pockets of 15-25 cm remained, up to 50 cm in deep spots such as the Flora Ville clubhouse in Nong Chok and Rom Klao housing [22]. A permanent medical unit had been set up at the Flora Ville clubhouse [22].
A report from about the same day said Flora Ville village in Nong Chok still had about 50-70 cm of water and was expected back to normal in about a week.
On 7 October, Chadchart said many areas were easing but the city overall was "brimming" and fragile, especially the east, which was still taking water from Lat Krabang and Chachoengsao [23]. Rain on 6 October had added 60 mm into Khlong Saen Saep, and some spots flooded again [23].
The TMD's heavy to very heavy rain warning No. 3, with data date 8 October, names Bangkok and vicinity for 10 and 11 October 2026 [5]. Nos. 1 and 2, with data date 7 October, had named Bangkok through 12 October [5].
On 4 October the BMA said 10-11 October could bring 100-150 mm of accumulated rain [24]. Chadchart said Bangkok normally copes with 60-70 mm, but with canals full, 60 mm would now cause flooding faster [23].
On 7 October, TMD forecasting director Suraphong Sarapa expected 30-50 mm of rain in short bursts on 10-11 October, easing on 12-16 October. A Drainage Department representative said the drains at the IMF-World Bank meeting venues, which host the 12-18 October meetings, handle 80 mm an hour, and the Finance Ministry said the venues and all 21 delegate hotels had seen no flooding since late September.
On 1 October the BMA forecast the Chao Phraya at about 2.25 metres against a flood wall about 2.80 metres high, with northern water expected to pass Bangkok on 4-5 October at not more than 3,000 cubic metres per second [25]. Eleven communities in six districts outside the wall were warned: Dusit, Phra Nakhon, Bang Kho Laem, Yan Nawa, Bangkok Noi and Khlong San [25].
On 5 October, Parinya Chanthakup of the Drainage Department said the river was forecast to peak at 1.72 m that day, about 1.28 m below the BMA flood wall [26]. Bangkok permanent secretary Thaiwut Khankaeo said the city has about 88 km of flood defences along the river, raised by about 1.5 m [27].
On 4 October the BMA, citing the Hydrographic Department, said the river would peak at 20:42 at +1.76 m MSL in front of Royal Thai Navy headquarters in Bangkok Noi, against a critical level of +3.00 m MSL. The flood walls were 2.8-3.5 metres high, leaving 1.16-1.49 metres of clearance.
Upstream, the Royal Irrigation Department began cutting the Chao Phraya Dam release on 7 October from 2,500 cubic metres per second by about 20 an hour, to 2,400 by 13:00 [28]. Station C.2 in Nakhon Sawan carried 1,915 cubic metres per second at 06:00 and was falling [28].
At 06:00 on 8 October the dam was releasing 2,350 cubic metres per second, with the upstream level at +16.05 m MSL and station C.2 carrying 2,009 cubic metres per second, 2.94 m below the bank.
On 26 September 2026 the BMA widened its disaster declaration from three districts (Nong Chok, Suan Luang and Khan Na Yao) to all 50, effective 25 September [2].
DDPM reported 52,000 affected households in Bangkok on 27 September [29]. At 06:00 on 29 September it reported 329,000 households, 4 deaths and a stable water level [3].
The 329,000 figure was unchanged in DDPM reports through 06:00 on 6 October [4]. A DDPM document of 29 September reported no injuries and no missing people, with 233 temporary shelters open [30].
The city's own estimates differ and are kept apart. On 28 September, deputy governor Tavida Kamolvej said places with about 10-30 cm or more of accumulated water covered about 300,000 households or about 700,000 people, though not every household had water inside the home [10]. About 234 shelters under or coordinated by the BMA held nearly 7,000 people [10].
The command centre counted about 329,000 affected households or about 700,000 people, with about 30,000-40,000 people in Lat Krabang, about 20,000 in Bang Kapi, about 30,000-40,000 in Khan Na Yao and about 10,000 in Lak Si. About 1,500 bedridden patients had been moved to hospitals under the BMA.
DDPM opened relief registration for 65 provinces and Bangkok through the Tang Rath app from 08:00 on 2 October 2026, or in person at a Bangkok district office [31]. Help is once per household under four cases: flooded for not more than 7 days with property damage, flooded for more than 7 days, surrounded by water for more than 7 days, and a high-rise where water didn't reach the occupied floor but normal life was impossible for more than 7 days [31].
Bangkok had 552,709 households registered on Tang Rath at 07:30 on 7 October, ahead of Samut Prakan (188,153) and Pathum Thani (161,594) [32]. DDPM's batch sent to the Government Savings Bank that day included no Bangkok households [32].
Filings on the BMA's Claim Bangkok site on 6 October were reported as 53,300 in one briefing [22] and about 50,300 in another [33].
Victims can claim from two sources: the government's cabinet-approved payment of 5,000 or 9,000 baht per household, registered through Tang Rath or a district office, and BMA payments for actual damage, with house repairs capped at 88,600 baht [34].
A deputy government spokesperson confirmed on 7 October that residents of the Khlong Chan NHA community flats in Bang Kapi who meet the more-than-7-days rule will be paid 5,000 baht per household, including high-rise residents whose floor stayed dry [35]. Earlier that day, DDPM director-general Nirat Phongsitthithaworn had said those residents were "not eligible" for the 5,000 or 9,000 baht because they didn't meet the 7-day water-surrounded rule [36].
On 29 September 2026 BMA schools in 15 high-impact districts were closed for three days, 30 September through 2 October: Khlong Sam Wa, Khan Na Yao, Chatuchak, Bang Khen, Bang Kapi, Bueng Kum, Prawet, Min Buri, Lat Krabang, Wang Thonglang, Suan Luang, Saphan Sung, Sai Mai, Nong Chok and Lak Si [37]. Fourteen other districts were left to district directors [37].
On 7 October the Public Health Ministry converted the field hospital at Kheha Chumchon Lat Krabang School, which served the Rom Klao community, into a medical and public health recovery centre run with the BMA. The field hospital was closed so the school could return to normal use.
The Krap flood map shows each Bangkok report as a pin with the place, the time it was filed, the depth in centimetres when one was recorded, the road status, and a photo when there is one. Reports are refreshed about once an hour, so the time on each pin matters.
Route search takes a start and a destination in Thailand and draws the fastest driving road plus up to three alternatives when they exist. It lists reports within about 500 m of the chosen road, and an empty list isn't the same as a clear road.
Governor Chadchart said the situation began at 16:00 on 24 September 2026 [1].
